Is Nausea in Late Pregnancy Cause for Concern ?

When expecting mothers experience nausea in late pregnancy sometimes they can become concerned because sickness and nausea usually occur in the first trimester after you find your pregnancy test positive . However, even though it seems to raise some eyebrows does not mean you need to rush yourself to the Emergency Room just yet. In fact, nausea and morning sickness are definitely not just confined to showing up during the first few months of your pregnancy. Some expecting women even have to deal with the nausea for the entire 40 weeks that they are carrying! The hormones inside of a pregnant woman are literally going crazy and because of their fluctuation your stomach acid can often become irritated. When the nausea and sickness becomes persistent and even intense though, you should definitely speak to your doctor. A lot of women experience nausea and sickness during the final trimester because they have acquired gestational diabetes.

Gestational diabetes is pretty common in pregnancy and while it does raise the risk of your deliver, it is often harmless and goes away after your baby is born. However, if you do not eat right or get any kind of exercise the problem may actually worsen and cause you to experience even more issues.

Dehydration is one very common reason why nausea in late pregnancy occurs so be sure you are getting plenty of water and liquid throughout the day for yourself and your unborn child. Dehydration can really mess with your senses and even cause some women to being to hallucinate so you always want to carry some water with you if you are an on the go woman.

If any pains or discomfort arises with the nausea then that is often an area for concern as well. During the final stage of your pregnancy you are susceptible to pre-eclampsia, PUPPP and other conditions so you want to keep yourself as healthy as you can while you are carrying your precious cargo.

Luckily, even if you experience nausea in late pregnancy keep in mind that everything is just temporary and before you know it the nausea will be gone but it may be replaced by many, many sleepless nights. To help calm that nausea you can snack on some pretzel or crackers and many sure you are drinking plenty of liquids because the less your stomach is empty, the less it will become irritated and make you nauseas.
